CAIRO – 12 March 2017: Russian Minister of Transportation Maxim Sokolov said Russia and Egypt have agreed on the final draft of the Aviation Safety Protocol which will enable the resumption of flights between the two countries,

Russia Today reported

Saturday.

The Egyptian side has not decided when and where the protocol will be signed, the report added.

In February 2017, the Russian government agreed to the protocol between Cairo and Moscow, suggested by the Russian Ministry of Transportation.

Flights between Moscow and Sharm El-Sheikh were suspended after terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State group brought down a Russian plane in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula in 2015.
