CAIRO – 8 March 2017: Security services foiled an attempt to smuggle two camera drones into Egypt within a shipment of goods in Damietta, Youm7 reported Wednesday, citing information from Damietta seaport police.

Authorities confiscated two disassembled drones, each equipped for the installation of hidden cameras.

Damietta seaport police were notified of an attempt to smuggle foreign goods coming from China into the country without paying the necessary taxes by an import-export company headquartered in Farskour in Damietta.

The legal representative of the shipping company, C.M.A., denied any knowledge of the contents of the shipment.

The general prosecution is still investigating the incident.
