RAMALLAH - 1 December 2017: Spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh said Al Quds is the key for war and peace, stressing that any just solution to the Palestinian issue must ensure that Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) is the capital of an independent Palestinian state.

In statements on Friday, the spokesman said that international legitimacy, topped by the UN General Assembly's vote to accord Palestine "Non-Member Observer State" Status in the United Nations at its session on November 29, 2012, will help create a climate conducive to solving the regional problems and re-balancing Arab-US ties.

He went on to say that Al Quds city and its sanctuaries is the beginning and the end of any solution that could save the region from destruction.

He reiterated Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's commitment to a just peace based on a two-state solution and in accordance with the Arab and international legitimate resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
