BAGHDAD - 30 November 2017: The Iraqi security forces thwarted a Daesh attack on a checkpoint in northeastern Diyala province, an unidentified security source was quoted by Iraqi news agency as saying Thursday.

A checkpoint manned by the Popular Mobilization Forces in a village in the area of Qara-Tuba, in northeastern Diyala, was attacked by a mortar shell, before the mobilization forces thwarted the attack and chased the militants, the source said.

Meanwhile, three people were injured when a mortar shell landed at a field in northeastern Baqubah city
