CAIRO – 27 November 2017: A number of journalists gathered in front of the Syndicate of Journalists headquarters in Cairo late Monday for a candlelit demonstration to mourn the victims of the Rawdah massacre.

The head of the Syndicate of Journalists, Abdel Mohsen Salama, condemned the attack and extended his condolences to the families of victims.

At least 235 people were killed and 125 injured when unidentified militants attacked a crowded mosque during Friday prayers in the Sinai Peninsula, setting off explosives and spraying worshippers with gunfire.

A three-day state of mourning was announced in Egypt on Friday. Meanwhile, statements denouncing the deadly attack, condemnations and international acts of solidarity followed the deadly attack.
