CAIRO – 26 November 2017: Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Saturday sent a cable to Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to sternly deplore the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack on Rawda Mosque in North Sinai that left scores dead and wounded, the Lebanese news agency reported.

Bouteflika extended his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery.

He reiterated Algeria’s standing by Egypt, its leadership and people in the fight against terrorism and the need to eradicate it wherever it exists.

"This cowardly act against citizens who were at a worship place proves beyond doubts that terrorism denies all heavenly religions, and it only believes in criminality and murder," Bouteflika said.

On Friday, A group of 15 armed terrorists broke into Rawdah Mosque in Arish City, leaving at least 235 dead and 125 injured.

According to eye witnesses, the terrorists were initially riding two all-terrain vehicles, which they ditched 150 meters away from the crime scene. They detonated a bomb outside the mosque, and then opened fire at panicked Friday prayers.
