BAGHDAD - 23 November 2017: The Iraqi security forces regained control over 77 villages and Om al Akrab bridge, as well as Genev airport in southern al Hadr, the Iraqi military media reported on Thursday.

Iraqi Commander of Euphrates and al Jazera Military Operations Abd al Amir Rashed Yarallah said in a statement that the armed forces, Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and federal police backed by Iraqi air force were able to regain control over these areas.

Yarallah explained that the forces were able to take control of more than 5800 km from terrorist Daesh group as part of the second phase of the military operations taking place in Euphrates and al Jazera.
