CAIRO - 23 November 2017: UK Ambassador to Egypt John Casson announced on Wednesday the launch of a new initiative in support of start-ups in Egypt.

Under the StartEgypt initiative run by Flat6Lab, a 47-million-pound loan will be provided to support Egyptian entrepreneurs, Casson told a round table held at the headquarters of the US Embassy in Cairo.

It is the time to support the Egyptian youths and give them the opportunity to improve their capabilities and develop their country, he noted.

Casson urged the private sector in Egypt and the UK to support the initiative with 10 million pounds, saying that his country is taking part in building the Egyptian economy.

He voiced his country's support for the economic reforms recently taken by the Egyptian government and praised Egyptian-British relations.
