CAIRO – 22 February 2017: Egyptian footballer Mahmoud Hassan, better known as Trézéguet, could be joining the British Premier League soon, according to a

report by FilGoal

. Liverpool Football Club (LFC) are reportedly interested in the 22-year-old left-wing.

Hassan is on loan with Belgian football club Royal Excel Mouscron, but his contract is held by another Belgian team, Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht (RSCA), who signed Hassan from Egyptian club Al-Ahly in March 2016.

The FilGoal report said LFC has yet to make a bid for Hassan, but has spoken to his representatives, who suggested their client’s desire to part with his current contract.

If the acquisition goes through, Hassan would join fellow Egyptian national team players Mohamed Elneny and Ramadan Sobhy in the Premier League.

Empire of the Kop, a Liverpool fan blog,

also reported on the acquisition rumors

. The blog gave credence to FilGoal’s report and said, “the source breaks news of nearly every big Egyptian player and their transfers before European journalists get their hands on the story. They broke Salah to Roma, Elneny to Arsenal and Ramadan to Stoke, for example – so we trust there’s something in this.”
