CAIRO- 21 November 2017: Minister of Military Production Mohamed Saeed Al Assar and Romanian Minister of Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship Ilan Laufer met to discuss ways of cooperation in areas of mutual interest on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Al Assar reviewed the cooperation between the Egyptian and Romanian sides such as cooperation in the field of transfer of production technology to X-ray scanners for security services through the protocol signed between the National Military Production Authority and the Romanian company TST in August.

Assar stressed that there are several mechanisms for cooperation between the two parties led by a partnership for joint manufacturing and the transfer of Romanian equipment manufacturing technologies to the military production companies.

Laufer said he believes that the Egyptian government is supporting building a positive sentiment to encourage and facilitate Romanian investments in Egypt. He also said that he looks forward to activating fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production across various fields.

Laufer invited a delegation from the Military Production Ministry to attend the opening of activities of the Egyptian-Romanian Business Council on Monday to hold meetings with the Romanian companies participating in the sixth session of the council engaging in the fields of energy transferring, as well as information and programs on education, health and agriculture to view the opportunities for cooperation and investment available in the Egypt and Romania.

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail met with Laufer on Monday, where Ismail reviewed the economic and social program reforms applied by the Egyptian government.
