CAIRO – 16 November 2017: The Minister of Interior noted that his ministry is taking all the necessary measures to disclose the conditions that led to the murder of the Italian researcher Giulio Regeni in coordination with the relevant investigative bodies.

During his meeting on Thursday with the Italian Ambassador to Cairo, Giampaolo Cantini, Abdel-Ghaffar welcomed developing security relations with the Italian Ministry of Interior, especially regarding exchanging information on the phenomena of terrorism and illegal migration.

Meanwhile, Minister of Interior Magdi Abdel-Ghaffar received French Ambassador to Cairo Stephane Roumtier, who stressed his country’s keenness on expanding cooperation with Egypt during the upcoming juncture, especially on a number of security aspects.

During the meeting, Abdel-Ghaffar noted that the move came as a part of the two countries’ identical views regarding the importance of international efforts to confront terrorism and extremist groups that threaten the stability of the world’s countries.

For his part, the French ambassador praised the security and stability Egypt is currently witnessing, assuring the professionality of the Egyptian security body and its ability to deal with all security developments.
