CAIRO – 13 November 2017: Myanmar State Counselor Suu Kyi has explicitly evaded the Rohingya minority crisis during her speech at the 31st ASEAN Summit in Manila, despite growing international pressures against her government to exert efforts to solve the incredibly aggravating crisis.

The final statement draft has not mentioned anything regarding the Rohingya crisis; the crisis that forced more than 600,000 of the Rohingya Muslim minority to flee as a result of the violent acts practiced against them since August 2017.

Previously, a UN report described such violent acts as “ethnic cleansing," CNN reported on Monday.

The Rohingya Muslim minority has been seared in the flames of withering injustice and racism for the past decades in their native homeland by Myanmar’s tyrant army.

Ironically, Suu Kyi has won the Noble Prize for Peace in 1991 for her efforts in combating the violent ruthless practices by the military forces in Myanmar.
