Shoukry states Egypt’s solidarity with Bahrain

CAIRO – 12 November 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted Egypt’s full support to Bahrain’s security and stability, denouncing all terrorist acts targeting its safety, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abou Zaid said on Sunday during his meeting with Bahrain’s king Hamad Bin Isa.

Shoukry expressed his hope for more coordination and consultation between Arab states to combat their challenges, noting the importance of working to avoid any reasons that lead to tension and instability.

Shoukry also emphasized mutual work between the two countries in order to maintain Arab regional security.

The two officials tackled development and their stances in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Qatar as they stressed on the 13 demands to end Qatar-Gulf crisis.

For his part, Bahraini King Isa praised the strong Bahraini-Egyptian relations and cooperation, which resulted in satisfied outputs in all domains, especially on the formal and popular levels.

Meanwhile, Isa expressed his appreciation to initiative of the Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to delegate Shoukry to Bahrain particularly in this time, a move that reflects Egypt’s support and consolidation to Bahrain and its genuine concern toward Arab countries issues.

Shoukry sent Sisi’s greetings to King Isa.He also voiced an verbal message on Egypt’s assessments and view towards developments of the region and their impact on Arab countries’ stability.

The meeting came within Shoukry’s Arab tour, as Bahrain was his second destination after Jordan. The tour also includes Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
