Ghada Wali, a Graphic designer savant honored at WYF

CAIRO –11 November 2017: While speaking before President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi at the World Youth Forums’ opening ceremony, Ghada Wali said that her dream is to see her country and the rest of the world truly recognizing Graphic designing and revolutionizing the view and approach towards it.

Picked to be the Egyptian woman representative at the World Youth Forum, The 27-year-old Graphic designer spoke about the importance and impact of visual designs and connections in advancing education, relaying that they could impact nations.

“Graphics are the only means of communication that has been familiarized amongst peoples since time immemorial,” Wali said while referring that we have known about the civilization of our ancient ancestors from symbols and drawings, not from a typical alphabetical language.

The 27-year-old Wali was featured among Europe's top 30 young graphic designers. Also, she received two awards from Adobe Design and one from the Society of Typographic Art Chicago. In addition, Wali participated in Germany’s Granchin Competition.

Wali, works as an assistant professor at the German and American universities, and has studied graphic & communication design at the German University in Cairo.

Throughout her career as a graphic designing savant, Wali dabbled on working on more than 360 advertising campaigns for several agencies including MI7, J. Walter Thompson (JWT) and Etisalat Egypt. Recently, she designed the marketing campaign for "al-Aslyeen" movie or “the Originals.”
