CAIRO - 10 November 2017: Egypt’s Wood Tech Forum (WTF) in Damietta city kicks off Saturday, taking place at Damietta Sports Hall in Ras el-Bar city till November 13th.

The forum is organized by Damietta chamber of commerce furniture sector in cooperation with MEDEXPO Egypt JSC, and with the official patronage of Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the governor of Damietta in order to expand their activities with the aim of positioning Damietta, Cairo and generally the country of Egypt as an investment hub in the region, according WTF press release.

WTF includes speeches, presentations and case studies presented by prominent speakers coming from international institutions and organizations with themes such as: innovation in the wood processing sector and new materials, modern furniture production processes, new sales and marketing methods in accessing new markets, market research on global furniture trends, modern design.

The event is sponsored by European Panel Federation (EPF), The Association of European Producers of Laminate Flooring (EPLF), Egyptian Industrial Modernization Centre and Multilayer Modular Flooring Association (MMFA).

Damietta Chamber of Commerce Furniture Sector announced also the organizing of Cairo’s biggest International Exhibition for Timber, Design, And Technology Wood Tech from February 16-18, 2018.

The first edition of WTF registered more than 3,000 trade visitors during the two days of the event; attracted professionals from the sectors of wood, furniture industry, materials, wood marketing and design from the city of Damietta, as well as from Cairo and Alexandria. About, 270 scheduled B2B meetings were held, revealing the interest in business deals, which were materialized in the form of commercial transactions in all sectors of interest, according to WTF official website.



The industry also had the opportunity to meet some very important figures in the Egyptian government involved in the Damietta Furniture City project.
