CAIRO – 8 November 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi ordered that a committee be assigned that would be concerned with developing works of art, Egyptian producer and writer Medhat El Adl said.

El Adl said in a phone interview with TV presenter Tamer Ameen on “El Hayah El Youm” that he is totally aware of the challenges Egypt faces nowadays and that the media has a role in producing movies that face extremist ideology. He further explained that the movie market in Egypt is facing a fierce competition.

He pointed out that the production of serious movies capable of countering radical thoughts cause loses to the producers, and he called on the state to support these kinds of movies.

Cinema is the shortest way to audiences, said El Adl, relaying that he supports President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s proposals on how the state should support film-making.
