CAIRO – 7 November 2017: Egyptian bronze medalist Farida Osman praised the successful organization of the World Youth Forum, describing it as, “a great event.”

Osman was awarded the prize at the World Athletics Awards ceremony on the sidelines of the National Olympic Committee meeting in Prague, Czech Republic.

Held under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, the WYF, which is currently taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh, brings together 3,000 youth represented by 60 delegations from around the world to conjointly discuss issues of common interest

The 22-year-old started swimming at four years old. At the age of 11, she participated in her first national championship, where she won four gold medals. A year later, she represented Egypt in the African league and has been a national source of pride ever since.
