CAIRO – 6 November 2017: Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders Ahmad el Tayyeb left here Monday for Italy, to participate in the third world forum in Rome, dubbed "East and West towards civilized dialogue".

Tayyeb will hold a number of official meetings, mainly with Vatican Pope Francis, Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, the Italian Foreign Minister and number of Italian officials in order to discuss ways of spreading the culture of peace and coexistence and renouncing extremism and Islamophobia.

He will address the issue of dialogue among civilizations in his upcoming speech at the Palace of the Chancellery in Rome.

Religious men and number of members of the Muslim Council will participate in a panel discussion on "Religions and the National State".
