Al-Khosht expressed his appreciation for this donation, pointing out that Sheikh Sultan al-Qasimi studied at Cairo University and wanted to return the favor for Egypt.

During his visit, Qasimi stated to the patients in the National Cancer Institute that “I am here among you and I feel as if these walls around us are moaning and suffering from the pain they contain.”

Qasimi obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering at Cairo University, graduating in 1971. He subsequently completed a Ph.D. with distinction in History at Exeter University in 1985, and another in Political Geography of the Gulf at Durham University in 1999.

Qasimi has delivered to Egypt 354 smuggled antiquities that were seized by the authorities of Sharjah, during his visit to the country to attend the World Youth Forum held in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
