KABUL - 3 November 2017: The Afghan security forces on Friday conducted air and artillery strikes on Taliban outposts in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, leaving several militants dead.

At least eleven Taliban insurgents were killed during the operations, Khama Press news agency reported, quoting a statement by provincial government media office as saying.

Artillery units hit the hideouts of the Taliban group in Greshk district of Helmand, killing six insurgents.

Meantime, the Afghan Air Force conducted airstrikes in Spin Jumat, Bashran of Lashkargah, and Chah Engineer area of Nad-e-Ali, leaving at least five militants dead.

Afghan forces conducted other operations in various areas of the province, during which they managed to seize at least 95 different types of improvised explosive devices.
