Tawadros congratulates army over freeing Haies

ALEXANDRIA - 1 November 2017: Pope Tawadros of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark congratulated on Wednesday the Armed Forces on freeing a police officer held by terrorists following a shootout in the desert of Wahat.

Delivering a weekly sermon at an Alexandria church, the pontiff said "We salute the Egyptian Armed Forces over the the success of the recent operation to free Captain Mohamed Haies."

He paid tribute also to the martyrs and injured of the army and police for their sacrifices.
