CAIRO – 30 October 2017: The spokesman of the Egyptian armed forces, Tamer El-Refai, said on Monday that border troops and the air force managed to cooperate and foil terrorists of infiltrating the country’s western border.

The statement added that terrorists were driving 6 four-wheel drive cars loaded with large quantities of arms, ammunition, fuel and other supplies.

“Our forces managed to target and destroy all vehicles, and we managed to eliminate all terrorism threats,” El-Refai said. He added that the operation came as part of the deterrence to any terrorist groups intending to infiltrate Egypt’s borders.

The operation falls within the framework of the armed forces' ongoing anti-terror efforts, the spokesman added.
