Awqaf minister says determined to train preachers

CAIRO - 26 October 2017: Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said Thursday he is determined to implement a program to evaluate the performance of preachers in order to help them cope with current developments.

Presiding over a meeting with ministry officials, the minister said the program is aimed to face extremist thoughts, he said.

Most of Awqaf ministry preachers are distinguished, he underlined, noting that only some of them needed training to develop their performance.

The training program will be finalized by mid-2018, the minister said, adding that the best preachers will be chosen to re-located in the new ministry headquarters at the new administrative capital city.
