Larcher praises Egyptian regional efforts

CAIRO -26 October 2017: President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher was keen to Praise the accomplishments taking place in Egypt, despite the tough circumstances currently witnessed by the Middle East during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Wednesday, said Presidential Spokesperson Alaa Youssef.

Larcher sought to be updated with Sisi’s evaluation of the regional incidents, noting that his country values the Egyptian role to realize stability and security in the Middle East.

Sisi congratulated Larcher for being re-elected as the head of the French Senate, expressing his willingness to meet the members of the French Parliament (The Senate – National Assembly), promising to boost the relations between both Parliaments in order to enhance ties between the two nations.

Larcher said that he is looking forward to meet the head of the Egyptian Parliament Ali Abdel Aal in the French capital of Paris, added Youssef.

Both officials discussed boosting bilateral relations, coordinating efforts to curb terrorism and the latest crises in the Middle East.
