CAIRO – 25 October 2017: Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov has discussed with Sherif Gad, the head of the Egyptian delegation at the World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) ways to boost cultural exchange.

Gad and Bogdanov asserted the necessity of establishing contacts between young men in Egypt and Russia, in addition to giving them the opportunity to take part in international events, the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Egyptian delegation to the festival comprises 102 young boys and girls, who enjoy outstanding skills and capabilities.

On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin has given an official start to the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Russia’s Black Sea resort city of Sochi.

"I declare the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students open," he said at the opening ceremony in Sochi’s Bolshoi Ice Dome on Sunday. "Way to go!"

He wished young people to be consistent and bold in their efforts towards their goals.
