CAIRO – 24 October 2017: Social Solidarity Minister and Head of Executive Office of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers Ghada Wali said Tuesday that Egypt cooperates with the Arab countries and the Arab League (AL) in eradicating terrorism and minimizing its social and humanitarian effects.

Wali was speaking at the second meeting of senior officials to implement the resolution of the Arab Summit no.699 on terrorism and social development, which was held at the AL.

Wali noted that the terrorist attacks, which occurred in Egypt and Arab countries, had their negative social and psychological effects. This motivates officials to eliminate terrorism from its roots, she said.

She called on all the competent bodies in the Arab countries to intensify their efforts, in cooperation with the General Secretariat, to achieve what is required on due time.

She thanked the staff for preparing a draft action plan to implement the resolution of the AL.

She highlighted what the Jordanian Ambassador Ali Al Ayed said that the goals of sustainable development can not be achieved in light of terrorism.

The General Secretariat of the AL asked to be briefed on the status of implementing its decisions regarding the social dimensions of terrorism like financing small and medium projects and reducing unemployment, as one of the Arab mechanisms to support Arab efforts in fighting terrorism.
