CAIRO – 23 October 2017: Former head of the army's Department of Morale Affairs, Samy Farag, said that he expects good news concerning the missing officer, Mohamed al-Haies, within the next two days.

Farag’s statement came during an interview with “Honna Al ‘Asema” (Happening in the Capital) show on CBC Sunday; where he also praised security forces' efforts to find Haies, who has disappeared following a raid on a militant hideout. "I am sure rescue planes have been searching for Haies and any trace of other terrorist elements since yesterday," Farag added.

According to security sources, 17 security personnel were killed and 15 others were injured during a raid on a militant hideout near the Giza-Al Wahat Road in the Giza governorate.

Haies was claimed to be among the dead; however, his father spoke to the media, affirming that his son’s body was not found, and his death has not been confirmed yet.
