Terrorist camps raided by Egyptian Security in Western Desert

CAIRO – 22 October 2017: Killing 15 militants in kilo 135 Wahat area in the Western Desert was not the first raid and will not be the last strike against terrorists and extremists by Egyptian Security Forces.

Egypt Today highlights the most effectively destroyed terrorist group camps in the last few months right before they were about to carry out unjustifiable acts of terror over Egypt as follows:

1. Breaking into terrorist camp in Qena in Abu Tesht area and killing of terrorist elements involved in the assassination of martyr Ahmed Abdel Fattah Gomaa.

2. Incursion into the camps of terrorists in the Western Desert west of Giza and killing of 7 terrorists implicated in bombing the Minya bus as well as the churches of Tanta and Alexandria, thwarting several terrorist attacks to ambushes and places of worship.

3. Breaking into a terrorist camp in kilo 11 near Ismailia police station and killing of 14 terrorist elements.

4 - Incursion into a Hassm terrorist camp in the desert near Fayoum and killing 8 terrorist elements.

5 - Police targeted a terrorist camp in the desert routes in the south of the country, killing one Muslim Brotherhood leader and seven other elements.

6 - Raiding a training camp in Hehia region at Sharqia, seizing a large quantity of explosives in a farm in the area and arresting a number of the accused in assassinating the late Attorney General Hisham Barakat.

7 - Raiding a terrorist camp in a mountainous area south of Aswan and arresting a number of those accused

8. A raid on a farm used as a training camp for terrorist elements in the village of Al-Jazar near Kafr el-Dawwar village in Menoufia, where a large quantity of explosives was seized and two militants were killed.

9. A raid on a large camp and farm in the Delengat area in al Behira governorate owned by Brotherhood leader, where two terrorists were killed, a large quantity of weapons seized as well as an explosives factory.

10. Raiding a terrorist camp for training suicide bombers in the Arab al-Awamir area in Assiut, killing seven militants.

11. Raiding a terrorist camp on Safaga-Sohag road where 8 terrorists were killed.

12. Breaking into a camp for terrorists south of Giza and killing 7 militants.

The war against terrorism is raging and the state fully realizes the current security challenges sacrifices of police martyrs as well as of those injured.

Egyptian authorities on Saturday said two police operations were moving in on a suspected militant hideout on Friday, when one of the patrols came under fire from heavy weapons in a remote area around 135 km southwest of Cairo.

The Interior Ministry said 17 police were killed in that part of the operation and 13 more were wounded. At least 15 militants were also killed in the shootout.
