ROME - 21 October 2017: Undersecretary of State for Italian Foreign Affairs Vincenzo Amendola asserted on Friday that Egypt and Italy are united by a joint past, present and future.

During his meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Egypt Hisham Badr, Amendola said that his visit to Egypt, expected to take place on Sunday, aims at restoring dialogue and coordination between the two countries via holding a number of meetings at the level of senior officials to discuss issues of mutual concern.

Meanwhile, Badr said Egypt is looking forward to discuss with Italy a number of issues concerning the Middle East and the Mediterranean Sea.

Badr reviewed the issues to be discussed during Amendola’s visit to Egypt, including the Libya crisis, combating extremist ideology and boosting cooperation in the UN Security Council.
