CAIRO - 18 October 2017: Head of the parliament's Human Rights Committee Alaa Abed has discussed in a meeting with British Ambassador in Cairo John Casson ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in different fields.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Abed said the British diplomat hailed the current political and economic situation in Egypt, asserting that his country is keen to cement cooperation with Cairo in various domains, including the economic and investment ones.

Also, Casson commended efforts of the parliament's Human Rights Committee, expressing his hope the UK would be one of the largest tourist-exporting countries to Egypt, the statement read.

The meeting touched on the human rights’ conditions in Egypt, the statement added.
