CAIRO – 17 October 2017: The killer of Father Samaan Shehata, who was stabbed to death on Thursday in Upper Egypt’s Beni Suef, has been referred to the criminal court on Tuesday, pending the prosecution’s decision.

Spotted walking though a poor neighborhood in Beni Suef, the priest was reportedly garnering financial aid for his perish when the killer followed him and eventually plunged a knife deep into his back, killing him.

No evidence has been found yet to suggest that the perpetrator belongs to any terrorist group.
