6 army troops killed in North Sinai military operation

CAIRO – 15 October 2017: Six army troops were killed in a military operation conducted on Sunday in North Sinai against terrorist elements.

During the operation, 24 militants were killed and another one was injured when law enforcement forces thwarted a failed terrorist attempt aimed at targeting check points in al-Qawades district, North Sinai on Sunday.

Two four-by-four vehicles related to the terrorists were destroyed.

Security forces are still combing the area for any further terrorist hotbed.
