CAIRO - 14 October 2017: Arab League chief Ahmed Abul Gheit on Saturday condemned in the strongest terms two terror blasts that hit buildings and a hotel in the Somali capital of Mogadishu.

A massive bomb attack in a busy area of the Somali capital Mogadishu has killed at least 30 people.

Dozens more were wounded when a lorry packed with explosives detonated near the entrance of a hotel.

Police say two people were killed in a second bomb attack in the Madina district of the city.

In a statement, the Arab League chief offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

In the same statement, spokesman for the pan-Arab body Mahmoud Afifi stressed support for the country in its war against terrorism.

He called on the international community to redouble its efforts to support the capabilities of the Somali army to achieve security and stability in the country.
