Sisi congratulates Egyptians on 6th of October anniversary

CAIRO – 6 October 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi congratulated the Egyptians through his official Facebook page Friday on the 44th anniversary of the 6th of October War victory.

“During the anniversary of 6th of October, I pay tribute and appreciation to all of Egypt’s martyrs who gave us glory, as I congratulate all of the great Egyptians who proved their determination and will for achieving victory,” Sisi’s official page stated.



On Wednesday, President Sisi placed flowers on the tombs of former Egyptian presidents Gamal Abdel Nasser and Muhammad Anwar el-Sadat as part of the 44th anniversary of the celebrations of the October victory.

Sisi also placed another wreath of roses on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Sedki Sobhy and General Mahmoud Hijazi, chief of staff of the Armed Forces, as the national anthem was played.

Several senior state officials, commanders of the armed forces and policemen, along with a number of leaders and heroes of the October war, attended the celebrations.
