Cairo – 6 October 2017: The deputy of the Defense Committee in the House of Representatives, Yehia El-Kadwany told Egypt Today on Friday that all the laws that aim to regulate social media platforms and confront electronic crimes will be discussed by the committees of defense and national security, and telecommunications.

Kadwany said that parliament will issue electronic crime laws in order to regulate Facebook. He added that legalizing Facebook does not undermine people’s rights to freedom, it is just rules that most European countries use in order to maintain their national security.

He mentioned that he supports all suggestions from Parliament to readjust rules of using social media platforms to protect the country and national security.
