CAIRO – 4 October 2017: Palestinian representatives of the Change and Reform Bloc confirmed on Wednesday that Palestinian reconciliation is a strategic option for Hamas to mobilize all efforts in facing the occupation plans.

Hamas reconciled on the principle of national partnership and will not leave the Palestinian political scene for the sake of the people and the Palestinian national project, stressed representatives.

Representatives pointed out in a press statement that Hamas will participate in any national government to support the entitlements of the next stage, especially as it has proved its concern for the Palestinian unity and achieving reconciliation.

Salah al-Bardawil, member of the Palestinian Legislative council said that Hamas commended the national reconciliation in all issues in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip under Egyptian auspices.

Bardawil pointed out that Hamas entered the political arena to serve its people and the Palestinian national project.
Hamas’ movement had announced on September 17 the dissolution of the administrative committee at the Gaza Strip, inviting the Government of National Reconciliation to assume its duties and hold general elections. The movement affirmed it would comply with the Social Reconciliation Accord signed in 2011.

Earlier, Palestinian President Abbas said that there is no other country that is as vital to the Palestinian cause as Egypt due to its historical and political position in the region. “Egypt has an opinion, a position and an interest in the Palestinian cause,” said Abbas.
