Exclusive: Palestinian presidential consultant on Egypt’s role

Cairo – 3 October 2017: In exclusive statements to Egypt Today, the Palestinian president’s consultant for legal affairs Hassan Al-Ouri said that the Palestinian reconciliation benefits the whole nation and contributes to the stability of the Arab region. The Palestinian reconciliation will have a positive impact on both the internal and external levels.

He indicated that the reconciliation and endeavors currently undertaken to resolve any disagreements are a victory to the Palestinian cause and that loss only befell the enemies, who hoped that Palestine would never be internally stable.

Ending the division and reconciliation will also serve the Palestinian cause internationally, continued Al-Ouri, as he stated that it will have a substantial positive impact in the future. He emphasized the necessity of ending any disagreements for the sake of the Palestinian cause, as he said there is a need to continue pushing forward for “unity.”

He stated that Egypt plays a significant regional and strategic role. Without it, there will be no progress. Egypt embraced all parties. Its role differed from that of any other country, as it truly influences all parties. There is no doubt about the significance of the Egyptian role, and nobody can deny it. Al-Ouri indicated being eternally grateful for the role played by the Egyptian leadership in serving the Palestinian cause on all levels. He concluded by stating that today is a day of triumph for all and that we have a real victory that Egypt contributed to.
