BAGHDAD, 3 October 2017 - The Iraqi parliament announced Tuesday that it has suspended the membership of the Kurish lawmakers who are in favor of Kurdistan's independence referendum, the Iraqi news agency reported.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi parliament's State of Law Coalition called for bringing the Kurdish MPs who participated in the referendum to justice.

MP Adnan al Assadi of the coalition also urged these lawmakers to resign immediately and not to attend the parliament's sessions.

The current situation requires that the Kurish MPs who took part in this independence referendum be brought to justice, since they broke the oath to preserve Iraq's unity and independence as per the constitution.
