CAIRO – 2 October 2017: UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash tweeted on Sunday that the Qatari crisis is no longer a priority for the four boycotting countries: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain.

“Qatar’s political options are narrowing, while the four countries are moving forward confidently, neglecting the Qatari crisis that is now no longer one of their priorities. Qatar knows what is needed to end this crisis,” Gargash wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Gargash further tweeted, “Qatar has failed in New York despite the huge funds it spent on media and its messages of grievance and denial. The key to resolve the crisis is politics and wisdom, not media.”

On June 5, the Arab quartet halted all land, air and sea traffic with Qatar, and withdrew their diplomats and ambassadors from the Qatari peninsula. They issued 13 demands to Doha – then shortened them to six principles - including closing Al-Jazeera channel, curbing relations with Iran and shutting the Turkish military base.
