MERSA MATRUH - 1 October 2017: Mersa Matrouh security apparatuses on Sunday foiled an infiltration attempt by 117 people, including five Africans, who tried to illegally leave to Libya through Salloum.

Matrouh Security Chief Maj. Gen. Hesham Nasr said that police arrested 37 people from Minya, 18 from Beheira, 14 from Assuit, 10 from Beni Suef, 10 from Qena, six from Qalubiya and five from Giza.

An Eritrean citizen and four Sudanese were among those arrested, Nasr said.

All the legal measures were taken and the prosecution launched a probe.
