CEN-SAD head hails Sisi's efforts to confront terrorism

KHARTOUM - 28 September 2017: Secretary General of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) Ibrahim Abani lauded Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi's efforts and initiatives to combat terrorism and extremist ideology.

The counter-terrorism efforts, initiatives and programs have been backed by Egypt and its president, he said, calling on the African states to follow Cairo's steps and to unite to confront security threats and challenges besetting them.

Abani made the remarks Thursday during the opening session of 14th conference of the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA), held in Khartoum under the auspices of Sudanese President Omar al Bashir.

The conference was attended by the Sudanese president, CISSA chairperson Joseph Nzabamwita, representatives of 30 security and intelligence services in addition to a number of regional and international organizations.
