RAMALLAH - 27 September 2017: The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has strongly deplored Israeli celebrations under the auspices of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Gush Etzion settlement to mark the 50th anniversary of what the Israeli government calls “the liberation of Judea and Samaria, the Jordan Valley and the Golan Heights".

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Ministry asserted that the Israeli celebrations are a clear evidence of the Israeli limitless support for settlement policy and Judaizing Palestinian territories, which comes in line with the far-right-wing ideology, based on occupation, the seizure of lands and undermining any attempt to establish an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.

The international community’s failure to shoulder its responsibility towards the Palestinian people has encouraged Israeli occupation authorities to go ahead with building settlements, destroying the two-State solution and turning blind eye to the international law, the statement added.

The international community’s silence about Israeli violations against the Palestinian people raises questions and doubts on to what extent world countries and international institutions are willing to defend the two-state solution and apply the principles of the international and humanitarian law with regard to Palestine, the statement read.
