CAIRO - 25 September 2017: The development of Cairo-Assuit western desert road will be completed in a year and half at a cost of EGP 4.5 billion, General Authority for Roads, Bridges & Land Transport president Adel Turk said Sunday.

In a press conference at the General Authority for Investment (GAFI) after his meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Turk said the development of the road would involve handling road speed issues.

He added that there was a project to build a road binding Safaga and Mersa Alam, as part of a giant national project for roads, to serve tourist and mining investments and ease the movement between the ports.
