Nour party demands to account responsible for rainbow flag

CAIRO – 24 September 2017: Parliamentarian Mohamed Salah Khalifa, deputy head of Nour Party bloc in the Parliament, provided on Sunday a request for briefings to Parliament Speaker Dr. Aly Abdel-Aal to address the Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail, and the Ministers of Culture and Tourism.

This came when groups of homosexuals raised their flags openly and provocatively at a concert was held in Cairo recently by “Mashrou' Leila” band, to identify who is responsible for those unfortunate events.

Khalifa said in a statement on Sunday how official permission was given to hold a concert in which youth had participated in a manner that shocked the Egyptian values, especially that the Lebanese band is famous for acting contrary to values and ethics.

Khalifa added that some Arab countries prevented them to enter its territory and to hold any concerts, because they collide directly with the values of the Constitution.

He explained that Nour party rejects any violation of Egyptian society values under any pretexts or arguments, calling for accountability of the official who gave the permit to hold such concerts in Egypt.
