CAIRO - 23 September 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Saturday in New York with a delegation of the American-Jewish Committee at the conclusion of his participation in the meetings of the UN General Assembly.

The meeting tackled the Egyptian-US relations and the importance of promoting these ties, said the foreign ministry's spokesman Ahmed -Abu-Zeid.

They also discussed Egypt's efforts to achieve inter-Palestinian reconciliation and to address the conditions in the Gaza Strip.

The regional conditions and their impact on security and stability in the Middle East particularly in Libya, Syria, Iraq and Yemen were also mulled at the meeting, said the spokesman.

Shoukry asserted at the meeting the importance of boosting the relations between Cairo and Washington and Cairo in all economic, political and military fields.

He underlined also the importance of intensifying coordination and political consultation between the two countries in light of risks and threats that Egypt faces in the region.
