CAIRO – 19 September 2017: Hundreds of U.S. members of the civil society and the Arab community staged Tuesday mass demonstrations outside the United Nations headquarters in New York to slam Qatar’s “support for terrorism” and its Emir Tamim bin Hama Al Thani, who is participating in the General Assembly.

The protesters argued that Al Thani’s participation in the 72nd General Assembly means endorsing Qatar’s stance in favor of extremism.

They expressed full solidarity with all European cities that have been the victims of Qatari proxy terrorism in Paris, London, Brussels, Berlin and Barcelona, as well as entire Arab countries.

The protesters called for international measures be taken against all Qatari leaders and figures and their assets in European and U.S. banks be frozen.

Holding anti-Qatari regime banners as well as U.S., Egyptian and some Arab states’ flags, the demonstrators voiced their full support to join forces to counter “Qatari terrorism,” calling on the U.N. member states to boycott Doha.

They also called on U.S. President Donald Trump to halt dealing with the Qatari regime to help put an end to extremist ideology in the world, led primarily by Qatar and Emir Tamim, and his father Hamad.

Trump was urged not to accept Qatari investments, a veil which Qatar wears to finance terrorism in the U.S. and Europe, according to the protesters.

On Tuesday morning, World leaders gathered to attend the U.N. General Assembly summit to discuss several issues relevant to the Middle-East, Africa, the U.S., North Korean, Iran situation, Qatar, and the Palestinian-Israeli peace process.

In early June 2017, several countries, including Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, severed diplomatic ties with Doha over accusations of Qatar backing and funding terrorist groups.
