CAIRO – 12 September 2017: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry meets with his Algerian, Jordanian, Libyan and Emirati counterparts on Tuesday at the sidelines of the 148th session of the Arab League council at the ministerial level.

Shoukry met with his Jordanian counterpart on Tuesday at the sideline of the ministerial meeting of the Arab League and discussed the Egyptian-Jordanian bilateral relations.
Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safdi praised the Egyptian-Jordanian relations, Egyptian foreign ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement on Tuesday.

On the regional level, Shoukry stressed the necessity of boosting the bilateral relations to meet the two peoples’ needs.

The two ministers discussed the recent American endeavors to revive the Palestinian peace process, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Counselor Ahmed Abu Zeid added.

For the Syrian crisis, Abu Zeid stated that both Shoukry and Asafdi agreed that the political solution is the best way out to the Syrian crisis, indicating the political outcomes of the Geneva talks under the auspices of the United Nations, in addition to the Astana meetings which are deemed important to the Syrian crisis.

Shoukry met with his Algerian counterpart Abdelkader Messahel on Tuesday on the sideline of the 148th session of the Arab League council at the ministerial level.

Abu Zeid said Shoukry highlighted the special relations between the two countries.
Messahel expressed his country's aspiration to continue enhancing bilateral relations in all fields, especially the political and economic ones, and to agree on mechanisms to facilitate citizens’ mobility between the two countries.

Shoukry and Messahel discussed the developments of the Libyan crisis ahead to the six-party ministerial meeting on the Libyan crisis on September 14.
Abu Zeid said Shoukry met with his Emirati counterpart and discussed the bilateral relations on all levels.

Shoukry discussed the Libyan crisis’s developments and the Egyptian and Emiraiti participation in the London six-party meeting on Thursday.

Emirati Foreign Minister Anwar Qargash highlighted that the Egyptian efforts to counterterrorism and protect Arab national security.

Shoukry met with his Libyan counterpart Mohamed Taher Siala on Tuesday, manifesting deep ties between the two countries.

Shoukry stressed the necessity of cooperation between Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia to help the Libyan government in reaching a political solution in order to facilitate the rebuilding of the state of Libya, Abu Zeid added in a statement on Tuesday.
