CAIRO – 12 September 2017: A presidential delegation headed to New York City to prepare for President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s visit to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that starts Tuesday.

The theme of the UNGA session is “Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for all on a Sustainable Planet.”

In May, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) elected, with majority, Miroslav Lajcak of Slovakia to serve as the president of its 72nd session. At the time of his election, the 54-year-old Lajcak was the minister of foreign and European affairs of Slovakia.
