CAIRO – 12 September 2017: Prime Minister Sherif Ismail followed up on the repercussions of the terrorist attack in Al-Arish and directed to provide health care to the injured policemen, post the terrorist attack in Sinai, which left 18 policemen dead on Monday morning.

The attack triggered a violent reaction and calls for an expanded movement to hunt down terrorist elements carrying out the attack.

Minister of the Interior, Magdy Abdel-Ghaffar to submit a full report to the Prime Minister on the terrorist attack.

Last July, one of the biggest terrorist operations was in an attack targeting a battalion of the commando forces, where the Egyptian army forces managed to follow and destroy most of the terrorist outposts.

It was decided to form an a massive operations room from all the security departments, jointly with the Ministry of Interior to follow up on the repercussions of the attack. Ismail contacted Abdel-Ghaffar in order to follow up on the repercussions of the incident, where he ordered that the involved terrorist elements must be perused, as well as providing necessary health care for the wounded policemen, a senior governmental source told Egypt Today.

Ismail directed a comprehensive report on the repercussions of the incident and the Minister of the Interior will submit a detailed report within 48 hours to the Prime Minister about the repercussions of the Sinai’s attack, the source added.

Meanwhile, special operations forces from Cairo moved to Sinai to participate in an expanded security operation to exterminate a number of terrorist outposts in central Sinai and Al-Arish city.

The source has also pointed out that there were cases that were transferred to Agouza and Mubarak Police Hospitals of the Ministry of Interior to receive maximum health care.

It added that Abdel-Ghaffar will visit the injured immediately upon arrival to ascertain their health. Ismail directed Abdel-Ghafar that the wounded should be transferred to the World Medical Center, if required.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has emphasized the necessity to provide full care for families of the injured, stressing the dire necessity to pursue the terrorist elements and clear terrorist hideouts from Sinai.

A joint military operation in Sinai will be launched on Saturday evening by the military and police forces to clear Sinai from terrorist strongholds and to peruse terrorist elements involved in the attack.
