CAIRO – 12 September 2017: Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Abu el-Gheit called on Japan Monday, during the first ministerial meeting for the Arab-Japanese Political Dialogue, to recognize the statehood of Palestine.

Abu el-Gheit said that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been a main cause of regional stress and a matter of serious concern for Arab countries.

Israel keeps on being indifferent to the International law and executing settlement agenda besides the ongoing extreme agenda of Israel’s right-wing.

During the meeting, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that the Arab World still retain his common vision, to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, according to the United Nations decisions and the principle of land for peace: “The two states should live beside each other, in peace, that’s how it should be resolved.”

Foreign Ministry of Japan had announced its adoption of the “two-state solution” for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the support of the Palestinians’ dream of establishing an independent state: “Japan’s assistance exceeds $1.7 billion since 1993.”
